Recent unique coffees from Japan
A friend of mine recently came back from Japan with a large amount of coffee. I've managed to get some samples from him that I'm still slowly working through but a couple of unique ones I've managed to try:
Honduras Parainema Honey Anaerobic from Freak. This really did have very little fermentation taste and a very strong fruity flavor with some herbal taste in the finish.
Columbia Risaralda Milan Niu from Glitch. For some reason this coffee isn't on their website yet but to me it both smells and tastes like movie theater popcorn. You get a very strong butter and popcorn flavor even just smelling the beans itself and this essentially carries through in a very although you lose some of it when extracting too much.
